The open discussion “Higher education: social service or driver of economic growth?” took place on the basis of “Nakipelo” media project on 20 March 2019. In this discussion Kharkiv national university of radio electronics representatives: Andrii Danylov (Senior Lecturer of Social informatics department NURE, member of the Academic council of the university, Сhairman of the Council of young scientists), Vitaliy Tkachov (Senior Lecturer of electronic computers department, Candidate of Technical Sciences, member of NURE graduates Association, Vice-chairman of the Council of young scientists) and Nikita Zdorik (first deputy of chief of NURE Student Senate) took part. The discussion took place with support and on the initiative of “RE-Start” Сivil society organization which work is directed to implementation of the principles of sustainable development in Ukraine.
The discussion was devoted to questions of the organization and implementation of educational and scientific activity and devoted to its integration with business for ensuring sustainable development of Ukraine.

In January 2019, the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics signed the Protocol on Cooperation with the International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES) https://www.ifes.org. In the framework of partnership for the sake of sustainable development, KNURE will take part in the development of programs that are an integral part of the interactive IFES Civil Education course “Democracy: From Theory to Practice”.
On February 16-19, 2019 a group of teachers of the University passed the first training on methodology of teaching civic education. As a result of the training, they will present an interactive course “Democracy: from theory to practice” that will last for one semester. The training was organized by IFES in order to prepare participants for the teaching of the Civil Education course “Democracy: From Theory to Practice”. The course on civic education was developed by IFES and will be implemented in the 2019-2020 academic year. This event was made possible thanks to the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Ministry of International Affairs of Canada and British assistance from the Government of the United Kingdom.

In December 2018, Mikhail Lazar, a student of NURE majoring in software Engineering, won the “Overcoming” award in the category “Professionalism”.
The award was established with the support of Kharkiv Mayor Gennady Kernes. It is awarded to people with disabilities for achievements in professional, creative, sports or social activities.

October 25, 2018 NURE, Ukrainian Research Institute for Prosthetics and the Human Study e.V. an agreement was reached on cooperation in the training of specialists in prosthetics and orthotics according to international standards.
In order to implement the project “Creating Prosthetic and Orthopedic Education in Ukraine”, founded by the NATO Support and Supply Agency, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, and the School of Rehabilitation Sciences (Human Study eV, HS), NURE, Ukrainian Research Institute for Prosthetics and HS agreed on joint actions to train teachers / coaches for prosthetics and orthotics according to international standards ISPO Categories AI based on specializations and (educational program) “Orthopedic Technologies and Engineering” in the specialty 163 Biomedical Engineering II (Master) level of education. On condition of successful mastering of a professional program on prosthetics and orthotics and successful final control of a student, ISPO experts assign international qualifications – Category II – ISPO Prosthetist / Orthotician and issue a certificate.

On November 15, 2018, the academic business incubator “YEP!”
“YEP!” Began work in NURE – is a network of academic business incubators, in which students and young scientists learn to create their own startups http://www.yepworld.org. In the network “YEP!” includes student startup clubs at 23 universities in Ukraine, business incubators in Kyiv and Kharkiv, and an entrepreneurship program in Moldova. Programs “YEP!” supported by Cisco, Deloitte, Lucky Labs, the embassies of Estonia and Israel, the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. In NURE, the business incubator was opened with the support of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.

During this event, 50 teachers from Kharkov universities got the opportunity to get acquainted with the company’s projects, communicate with GlobalLogic experts and take part in a short tour of the office.
KNURE teachers were able to hear firsthand about the directions of GlobalLogic cooperation with universities and their opportunities to join this cooperation.
