The trade union of educational and scientific workers of Ukraine takes part in the protest action

On December 2-3, 2020, trade unions will protest against the restriction of the rights of union workers in various industries and in connection with the consideration in parliament of a number of bills initiated by the Government and individual deputies, which continue the policy of attacking workers and trade unions rights, disregarding the proposals of trade unions in the draft State Budget for 2021.

NURE joined the demands of the trade union to the authorities in order to ensure decent pay and social guarantees for educators:

  1. Compliance with the provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On Education” to ensure expenditures on education in the amount of not less than 7% of gross domestic product in accordance with Article 78 of the Law “On Education”.
  2. Approval of the salary scheme of pedagogical, scientific-pedagogical, scientific workers in accordance with Article 61 and the Final and Transitional Provisions of the Law “On Education”, as well as Article 36 of the Law “On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activity”.
  3. Providing local budgets in 2021 with a full-size education subvention with its distribution depending on the number of classes as of September 5, 2020.
  4. Ensuring the allocation in 2021 of an additional subsidy for the implementation of transferred from the state budget expenditures for the maintenance of educational institutions in full in terms of all local budgets, to prevent its reduction by 2 billion hryvnias.
  5. Ensuring in 2021 adequate amounts of funding for training by state institutions of higher education according to established standards.
  6. Introduce compulsory state insurance against coronavirus disease in employees of educational institutions and develop an appropriate procedure for its implementation.
  7. Ensuring the allocation of funds from the COVID-19 Acute Respiratory Disease Control Fund and its consequences for the period of quarantine to finance the needs of educational institutions.
  8. Preventing the abolition of benefits for travel of students and pupils in road transport.
  9. Preventing the interference of representatives of public authorities in the statutory activities of trade unions.
