On May 10-11, a meeting of the Biomedical Engineering section was held within the framework of the International Radio Electronic Forum “Radio Electronics and Youth in the XXI Century”.

About 20 abstracts for the Biomedical Engineering section were received from young scientists, students, and postgraduate students of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and System Engineering), Kharkiv National Medical University, Vasyl Karazin Kharkiv National University, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, and others. The online meeting was attended by about 15 participants, speakers, and listeners.

On April 27 traditional XV International Scientific and Practical Conference “Transcarpathian Legal Readings. Law as an Instrument of Sustainability and Development in Context of Modern Civilisational Challenges” was held in Uzhhorod. This year’s conference is dedicated to the 30th anniversary founding of Law Faculty Uzhhorod National University.

The conference  topics included current challenges to the international order, the martial law, constitutional and legal construction in times of war, criminal law in the context of Russian aggression against Ukraine, European integration and sustainable development as tools for economic development.

An international patent application was submitted to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) by the author’s team of scientists of the BMI department, consisting of professors Oleg Avrunin, Valeriy Semenets, associate professor Nataliya Shushlyapina, graduate student Ibrahim Yunuss Abdelhamid and researcher Bander Ali Saleh Alofi. The application for obtaining an international patent for a device for testing nasal breathing was published on May 4, 2023.

Oleksandr Avrunin, a student of KIUKI-21-5 group, took part in the III International Scientific and Practical Conference “National Health and Improvement of Physical Education and Sports Education”, which held on 27-28 April 2023 at NTU “KhPI”.
Oleksandr Avrunin’s report at the round table “Modern Problems of Sports and Recreation Activities” at the conference was devoted to the use of nasal dilators in physical training. He demonstrated his own research, which he conducted at NURE on the eve of a full-scale war, and processed the experimental results.
The conference slogan “Human health and life is a moral imperative nowadays” corresponds to Sustainable Development Goal 3 – Good health and well-being, to which NURE demonstrates its contribution.

On April 24, a regular meeting of the GTUA project “Green Transformation of Ukrainian Universities” began at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, where Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics is represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Automation and Computerized Technologies, Professor Oleksandr Fylypenko and Associate Professor of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Hanna Proniuk. The project also involves leading Ukrainian technical universities, the Ukrainian National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, and the Unite! Together, they are working to create green campus standards.

The workshop was organised within the framework of the «Green Transformation in Ukrainian Universities» project, which is run with funding from the National Agency for Academic Exchange. The programme was launched in January 2023 to support Ukraine’s academic community by engaging partner institutions in regular activities under Unite! Erasmus+ in the working area «An Open Innovation Community for Green Transition». Wroclaw Tech is the leader of this area.

Professor Oleg Avrunin, Associate Professors Yana Nosova and Natalia Shushlyapina took part in International Scientific and Practical Conference “Nation’s Health and Improvement of Physical Education and Sports Education” that was held 21-28 April at NTU Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute.

Two reports were presented by the faculty: “Remote conducting of physical education classes using video content with presence effect” in cooperation with teachers of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor Anna Grokhova and Senior Lecturer Olena Prisich; “Features of using nasal dilators during physical training”.

Professor of the V.V. Popovskyy Department of Infocommunication Engineering Yevdokymenko M.O., who is a member of the European Advisory Board of the International non-governmental organization Cyber Institute (USA), took part in the meeting of the United Nations Ad Hoc Committee.

The UN meeting was held at the Vienna International Centre (Austria), the third headquarters of the UN.
