Scientists from the BME Department, in particular, Professor Oleh Avrunin (project coordinator from NURE), Senior Lecturer Maksym Tymkovych and PhD student Andrii Sokolov, took part in a workshop on the DAAD Ukraine Digital: OER with Ukraine. This workshop is the second of the masterclasses on creating and editing video content offered within the project. The event was aimed at providing basic recommendations and technical features of video editing. Yevhen Tsymbalenko, Deputy Director for Scientific and Pedagogical Work at the Educational and Research Institute of Journalism at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, demonstrated how to work with video content processing software for OER. An example was also provided based on the educational content from the Cryomicroscopy Laboratory of the Institute of Multiphase Processes at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hannover based on the results of past research, in which most of the current participants in this project from the BME Department took part. They discussed the possibility of adding an elective course to postgraduate educational and scientific programmes that would focus on the basics of creating open educational resources and conducting appropriate pedagogical practice with OER, which in the future would provide additional learning opportunities for students of all educational levels. This will contribute to the research-based learning approach and the university’s sustainable development goals, in particular, quality education.
