Oleg Avrunin, Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering: “Active international cooperation, joint research projects, the quality of our laboratories and educational equipment, direct contacts with stakeholders and developments distinguish NURE from other universities in Ukraine. Research led by Professor Avrunin is important, such as the development of innovative technologies for physical rehabilitation and equipment for minimally invasive surgery.
The pandemic has not slowed down innovation or teaching at NURE. The Department of Biomedical Engineering has introduced, for the first time, distance learning, involving virtual laboratory work on introscopic medical systems and the use of panoramic 3D video. “This allowed remote practice in technical disciplines such as microcontroller systems with maximum realism,” Professor Avrunin adds.
