Department of Applied Mathematics (AM)

In the past – the Department of Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Physics.

Training

The department educates students for three degrees:

– Bachelor degree:

  • specialty 113 «Applied Mathematics» (educational programs «Applied Mathematics»),
  • specialty 124 «System Analysis» (educational program «System Analysis»);

– Master degree:

  • specialty 113 «Applied Mathematics» (educational program «Applied Mathematics»),
  • specialty «System Analysis» (educational program « System Analysis and Control»);

– PhD degree:

  • specialty 113 «Applied Mathematics» (educational-scientific program «Applied Mathematics»),
  • specialty 124 «System Analysis» (educational-scientific program «System Analysis»).

Fundamental mathematical disciplines are being studied:
– mathematical analysis, functional analysis, algebra and geometry, differential equations, equations of mathematical physics, probability theory and mathematical statistics, discrete mathematics.

Students study various computer disciplines:

– Programming in Python and C ++ languages, data structures and algorithms, software for computer systems, database management systems, computer graphics and computational geometry, computer networks, WEB-technologies, SCADA systems, geoinformation systems and technologies.


Science and international cooperation

International activity

– Agreement on cooperation in science and education with the AGH University of Science and Technology (Krakow, Poland) in education and research activities is aimed to improve the teaching level, develop the scientific research, exchange of achievements in an education and research work, students and teachers mobility.

– Agreement on cooperation in a science with the Lublin branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

– Academic mobility program “M2 ACSYON MATHEMATIQUES”, second (master’s) level of higher education, Limoges, France.

– Cooperation agreement on the students and staff exchange within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme in 2021-2027 with the University of Aquila – Italy (Universita degli Study dell`Aquila).
