The continuation of long-term cooperation between Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics and the Ukrainian Research Institute of Prosthetics, Prosthetics and Rehabilitation in the field of medical and technical problems of rehabilitation and social adaptation of persons with disabilities was the publication of the first two textbooks: “Production technologies and materials” by authors A.D. The basic technological operations of manufacturing individual orthoses for the spine are also given.

The manuals were recommended for publication by the decision of the Academic Council of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (Protocol No. 11/12 of 24.12.2021) and, accordingly, recommended to full-time and part-time students of the specialty “Biomedical Engineering”, the educational program of the master’s level of training “Orthopedic Technologies and Engineering”, which is currently being implemented at the department.

This educational program is the result of the implementation of the project “Establishment of Prosthetic and Orthotic Education in Ukraine”, which was launched by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine and the Human Study School of Rehabilitation Sciences, within the framework of which the Department of Biomedical Engineering trained teachers and trainers in prosthetics and orthotics according to modern international standards of ISPO category II.

Congratulations to the authors who continue to work hard during the martial law in this, unfortunately, very necessary in the conditions of full-scale Russian aggression, the field of biomedical engineering, and express our gratitude to the staff of the editorial and publishing department of our university, who, even during the downtime, are trying to ensure the publication of new educational and methodological literature!
