From 17 to 19 October Vinnitsa hosted the final of the all-Ukrainian student Olympiad in programming, which was held in conjunction with the semifinal of the world international student Olympiad in programming ACM ICPC.
For the first years of independence of Ukraine, a team of NURE students , consisting of Oleg Wallace (PSM-19-1), Andrey Shanin (PSM-19-1) and Matthew Aslanukov (PSP-16-1) who are studying at the Department of Software Engineering faculty of Computer science, became a national champion and Vice-champion of South-Eastern Europe programming, going through all the stages of the regional competition ahead of more than 800 Ukrainian teams.
Only two sites in Ukraine and Romania fought 100 teams from leading universities in Eastern and southern Europe, and Kharkiv national University of radio electronics was represented by 3 teams, including a team consisting of Anton Gavrashenko (KIUKI-16-1), Mikhail Plotnikov (PZPI-17-2), Ivan Popovich (PZSM-19-1) and under the leadership of Associate Professor of PE Alexander Vechur, also demonstrated a serious result, getting into the top 10 of Ukraine.
It should be noted that ACM ICPC is the most massive world student Olympiad. More than 300 thousand teams representing 10 000 universities of 120 countries of the world take part in its qualifying competitions at the level of national Olympiads.
Now the team is waiting for a responsible stage of preparation for the Grand final, which will be held in half a year. Therefore, we wish our team a successful training process to adequately represent the country and the native University.
