ITU opened Turkish-Ukrainian office

Thursday, April 18, 2019 | TheIstanbul Technical University (ITU) and the Kharkiv national University of Radio Electronics (NURE), within the framework of the Protocol on cooperation in the field of science and education signed last year, opened a joint Turkish-Ukrainian office in ITU
The opening ceremony was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering ITU Dr. Serhat Seker, Director of the Institute of Science and Technology of ITU Dr. Ertugrul Karacuja, Director of the Ukrainian-Turkish Scientific and technical research coordinating center Dr. Eldar Valiyev, Rector of NURE Valerii Semenets, Vice-Rector Murat Omarov, representative of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine Olena Shapovalova, General Consul of Ukraine in Istanbul Alexander Gaman, scientists and students.
Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Electronics of ITU Dr. Serhat Seker in his speech at the opening noted the importance of international cooperation between the universities of Turkey and Ukraine, and said that the opening of cooperation offices will contribute to the development of scientific and technical research. Speaking about the work that is planned to be carried out in the office, which was opened to improve scientific cooperation between the faculty of electrical engineering and electronics ITU and NURE, Seker continued: “the Research that will be carried out here, relate to the exchange of students and graduate students through programs such as the international Association of internships for students of technical specialties (IAESTE) and Erasmus+; the creation of organizations that promote participation in scientific research. The joint project of the School of Foreign Languages ITU and NURE in the framework of the EU program, provides for the inclusion of digital technologies and artificial intelligence for language learning, He also touched the other projects: “Microwave technology, electromagnetic radiation theory, microwave image processing and microwave communication have problems related to each other. We think that joint research can be carried out on these issues, ” he said.
Rector of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics Valerii Semenets also said that the purpose of cooperation is the exchange of staff, researchers and students in the interests of both universities. He spoke about the preparation of internship programs, training programs for obtaining a double degree diploma and the participation of scientists in joint research.
NURE was founded in 1930 and provides higher education to graduates of secondary schools and vocational schools. The faculties of the University have bachelor’s and master’s programs in Russian and English. International students from 25 different countries study at NURE.
