In the period from December 1 to 4, 2024, the founding working meetings of the executors of the international project Security Education Center for Unified Resilience & Effective Communications – Erasmus Secure took place on the basis of the University of Aveiro (Portugal). The goal of the project is to implement EU best practices, frameworks and strategic documentation regarding 5G network security; development of new innovative courses on 5G network security; creation of an innovative educational and research center, which includes in each participating country three cross-connected virtual laboratories for the development of the 5G network; creation of the R&EHub platform for communication between academia, business, government and employment; teacher training and professional development of academic and administrative staff. It should be noted that the creation of research and education hubs in Georgia and Ukraine, linked to Portugal, Spain and Lithuania, will significantly accelerate the exchange of knowledge and capacity building, which will benefit the participating countries and the European Union in general.
Representatives of the universities of Portugal, Spain, Lithuania, Georgia and Ukraine took part in the working group. From Ukraine, employees of three leading universities actively worked in one team: Kyiv Aviation Institute State University, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, and Cherkasy State University of Technology. The head of the project is Professor Rui Aguiar from the Institute of Telecommunications (University of Aveiro, Portugal). The coordinator from Ukrainian universities is Prof. Odarchenko R.S. (dean of the faculty of the State University of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).KHNURE was represented by three professors of the department of V.V. Popovsky: prof. Yevdokymenko M.O. (coordinator from KHNURE), prof. Yeremenko O.S. and Prof. Lemeshko O.V.
During a series of working meetings, further work plans were determined, the main stages of the project’s tasks were performed, the division of tasks between the performers of different universities was clarified and approved, deadlines and KPIs were set, on which the teams of performers are oriented.
In addition, Professor Rui Aguiar conducted a tour of the scientific and educational laboratories of the Institute of Telecommunications of the University of Aveiro (Portugal), introduced the guests to the subject of scientific research and employees of the Portuguese university.
