Today, at NURE, we traditionally wear embroidered shirts (vyshyvankas) to celebrate the holiday and to remind ourselves of the uniqueness and beauty of Ukrainian culture.
For everyone, a vyshyvanka evokes special memories and feelings. Some remember their mother or grandmother who lovingly embroidered their shirt, others remember the time and place where they bought their treasure. The bright colors on a white background create a special mood and support the Ukrainian spirit.
After all, every day the Armed Forces of Ukraine defend not only Ukrainian lands and people, but also the very opportunity to wear vyshyvanka, speak Ukrainian, and live our lives. Glory to Ukraine!
