Vitalii Tkachov, associate professor of NURE Electronic Computers Department, presented an open lecture on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In particular, the lecture was devoted to SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy. The main emphasis was placed on how modern virtualisation technologies can contribute to energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
During the lecture, Vitaliy Tkachov outlined the basic principles of sustainable development and explained how IT innovations, such as server virtualisation, cloud computing and software optimisation, help reduce energy consumption. He gave examples of how universities and companies implement these solutions to achieve SDG 7.
“Virtualisation technologies allow for more efficient use of hardware resources, reducing the number of physical servers and energy consumption. This is cost-effective and an important step towards reducing the carbon footprint”, said Vitaly Tkachov.
The lecture aroused great interest among students, teachers and IT professionals who took part in the discussion about the future of green technologies.
The achievement of SDG 7 requires innovative approaches, and virtualisation technologies are becoming key tools for energy saving in the IT sector as they combine current global trends with practical solutions.
NURE continues to participate in global sustainable development initiatives actively, informing the community about modern approaches to their implementation.
