On March 26-27, the IInd Ukrainian forum of international education was held in Kyiv.

Vice-Rector on International Cooperation of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics Murad Omarov took part in the Forum. Within the framework of the event, the issues of toughening requirements for intermediary firms that cooperate with Ukrainian universities to attract foreign students to study, as well as of the implementationin  in the spring 2019 of a trial exam-GIT in the language of study for foreign students after the first year in Ukrainian universities were discussed.
In addition, in her speech at the Forum, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Grinevich noted that since 2020, all foreign students will take GIT in the language of study after the 1st year of education. After passing the GIT foreign student will receive a certificate of examination, which gives the right to continue their education in the second year.
Students who study in English and have international certificates such as IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge Certificate, with a level of knowledge of at least B1 – re-fold English will not. Their certificate will be automatically counted as a successful exam.
The Minister also stressed that the professional training of teachers who are working foreign students must meet the level of B2. “If we impose such requirements on the knowledge of the language of instruction of students, then even more stringent requirements should be for teachers of educational institutions that teach foreign students. Their level of language proficiency should not be lower than B2”, – said Lilia Grinevich.
