Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics hosted an educational and methodological training session for general secondary education computer science teachers on the topic “Artificial Intelligence in Computer Science Lessons: Safe and Appropriate Use in a Blended Format”.
The training was conducted by Dmytro Vodianytskyi, Senior Lecturer at the NURE Department of Artificial Intelligence.

The goal of the event was to enhance the digital competence of teaching staff, introduce modern artificial intelligence tools, and foster practical approaches to their application in the educational process.

During the training, key issues regarding the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into educational activities were covered, including:

– using AI tools while teaching computer science;
– applying AI in teaching programming;
– organizing blended learning using digital technologies;
– upholding academic integrity principles amid the spread of AI;
– approaches to assessing learning outcomes taking into account the use of artificial intelligence tools.

The practical part of the training involved hands-on experience with modern digital tools, specifically ChatGPT / Gemini, NotebookLM / Goblin Tools, GPTZero, and Gamma. Participants performed practical tasks aimed at analyzing AI capabilities for detecting signs of AI usage, as well as crafting effective prompts.

As a result of participating in the training, educators gained practical skills in using artificial intelligence tools in the educational process, as well as methodological recommendations for their safe and appropriate use.

The event confirmed the relevance of integrating artificial intelligence technologies into the education system and the need to develop the professional competencies of educators in line with the contemporary challenges of the digital society.
