The Spanish Cybermetrics Lab has released the next January issue of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.As of January 2022, the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics ranked 5th among 313 Ukrainian higher educational institutions and 1,934th in the world. For the first time, NURE is in the lead among the Kharkiv HEIs. According to the Excellence indicator, which shows the number of articles published by university researchers, which are up to 10% of the most cited by SSImago, the University of Radio Electronics ranks 5th, according to Openness (citation according to Google Scholar profiles) – 9th place, Impact – 8th place among the Ukrainian HEIs.
The purpose of the Webometrics ranking is to increase the presence of universities on the Internet and to promote the open publication of research results.
Webometrics takes into account the number of external links to the university website, SCImago data on Scopus publications and open citation data from Google Scholar.
Although Webometrics does not analyze the educational activities of universities in general, but the representation of universities in the Internet space, it allows to indirectly assess the research achievements of universities. To compile the rating, the developers rated the sites of more than 31,000 educational institutions around the world.
