On January 10, 2019, on the basis of the Department of Infocommunication Engineering of the Faculty of Infocommunications, within the framework of the NURE Winter holidays, a master class on “Cyber Security, Criminology and Cybercrime” was held for schoolchildren.
Vitalii Balashov, an expert in computer criminology, a postgraduate student of the department, the later head of the laboratory of Computer and Telecommunication Expertise of the Institute of Forensic Expertise named after Honored Professor M. S. Bokarius, trainer of the cyberpolice special agents in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine conducted the master class.
Within the framework of the master class, children and their parents were introduced to the basic concepts and types of cybercrime, as well as to the important safety rules and protection of their personal data. They also received practical skills in ethical hacking, namely finding vulnerabilities in video surveillance systems.
