THE DEPARTMENT OF BMI RECEIVED THE NEWEST EQUIPMENT

At the Department of Biomedical Engineering as part of the implementation of the International Doctoral Studio Program with Lubelska Politechnika, long-term cooperation with medical institutions-stakeholders – the Ukrainian Scientific and Clinical Center for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation and the Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology named after M.I. Sitenka of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, the latest medical equipment for prosthetics, orthotics and physical rehabilitation of the upper and lower limbs was obtained for the training of applicants of the first (bachelor’s), second (master’s) and third (doctor of philosophy) levels of higher education under the “Biomedical Engineering” educational program:

– Gaemi intelligent robot for physical rehabilitation of hands (model GM-1700JC);

– a mechanical hip prosthesis of a modular type for functional and cosmetic compensation of a lost limb;

– a cosmetic dummy of a hand as a temporary masking of a lost stump;

– pneumatic orthosis for the ankle joint (model AURAFIX derotation boot ORT-15 L);

– trainer splint for injuries of extensor tendons (model ORT-07 sl-904);

– wrist orthosis with LONGET finger fixation (OTTOBOCK MANU IMMOBIL LONG 50P11 model);

– an expander simulator for performing finger and hand exercises after injuries or fractures of the radius bone (model Cornix 3-5 kg Finger Gripper professional XR-0220);

– gyroscopic hand expander for training hands and fingers (GYRO BALL Vkingbeau model);

– brush spring Fitnex Gripper Black expander with load adjustment.

The purchased medical equipment will be implemented in the educational process as part of the teaching of the disciplines “Apparatus for replacing lost organs and functions of the human body”, “Artificial organs and systems”, “Fundamentals of rehabilitation engineering”, “Design of biotechnical systems”, “Robotic medical systems”, as well as for conducting scientific and practical research on the basis of the laboratory of sports medicine and physical rehabilitation.
