On May 31, the traditional annual presentation of Ukrainian-French student business projects was held, concluding the cycle of the international entrepreneurship program European Virtual Venture. Students from the Artificial Intelligence Department at NURE and Graduate Engineering School ECAM-EPMI from Cergy, France, presented their business plans of startups to the expert jury (potential investors), focusing on developing intellectual products and services for agriculture, finance, healthcare, and city transport.
Among this year’s jury members was an innovation manager from the Technology Transfer Office of Coimbra University (Portugal), renowned for its successful cooperation with the business sector and support for technological spin-off companies. The University of Coimbra is a longstanding partner of the AI Department within the projects in capacity building of higher education.
The last, most intensive stage of European Virtual Venture training for students lasted several weeks this year. Teachers and representatives from the business community of France and Ukraine worked every day in a hybrid format with teams to create high-quality business plans.
This marks the 18th year of the program’s existence. Throughout its history, the program has experimented with various formats, navigated through the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, and is now overcoming the challenges and threats of a full-scale war. This year, in order to make learning even more effective and interesting for our students, we implemented the developments of the Erasmus+ project “JoInt Multidisciplinary Training Program on Entrepreneurship in the Field of Artificial Intelligence for Industry 5.0» – JoInME (#2021-1-FR01-KA220-HED-000032254). This includes a new hybrid learning methodology, tutorials and virtual gamified tools.
Through the implementation of this programme, the NURE makes a direct contribution to sustainable growth through the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, namely: SDG4 (Quality Education), SDG8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).
