To mark the professional holiday — All-Ukrainian Libraries Day — the Primary Trade Union Organization of NURE gave the staff of the University Scientific Library an opportunity to take part in an educational tour through the streets of Kharkiv.
The excursion “Splendour and Poverty. Streets of Paradoxes” offered participants a new perspective on familiar streets, buildings and squares. Behind well-known facades, they discovered personal stories, little-known historical facts, urban legends and striking contrasts that have shaped the character of Kharkiv throughout different periods of its development.
A special atmosphere was created by the guide, Ms Tamara Lastivka, representing the Navigator Ukraine tour operator. Her engaging and informative narration helped the participants see their hometown from a new perspective and experience the many layers of its history.
The excursion became not only a pleasant gift for the professional holiday but also an opportunity to communicate in an informal atmosphere, take a break from everyday routines and once again appreciate the unique character of Kharkiv.
The staff of the NURE Scientific Library sincerely thank the Primary Trade Union Organization of the University for organizing the event and for the memorable experience.
