At the end of November, the final meeting of the project ‘Education for Green Transition for Ukrainian Universities, GTUA-EDU’ was held, which is funded by NAWA Narodowa Agencja Wymiany Akademickiej and coordinated by Politechnika Wrocławska.Seven Ukrainian universities, the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education, and representatives of the Unite! concern finalised their work on creating Green University standards.
From KNURE, the meeting was attended by the dean of the Faculty of ACT, O.I. Filipenko, associate professor of the Department of BI, G.V. Pronuk, and associate professor of the Department of KITAM, A.V. Frolov.
The introduction of microcredentials into the educational process was also discussed. This form of education has not been defined in Ukraine, so NAQA is working on developing appropriate regulations.
To help participants better understand this issue, a training session was conducted by TU Graz expert Prof. Ernst Kreuzer.
The GTUA project resulted in increased awareness of green standards and critical self-assessment by universities of their strengths and weaknesses in the context of green transformations. Other positive practices include the involvement of a wide range of stakeholders in green projects and activities, the exchange of best practices in sustainable development, and the development of policies and action plans to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
