The Department of Software Engineering at NURE has been holding a major event for the fifth consecutive year – the Ukrainian Programming Cup 2026.
Launched in 2022, during an extremely challenging period for Ukraine, the tournament has become a symbol of the resilience of the Ukrainian IT community and young people’s commitment to development despite the challenges of war. Today, the Cup is not only a competition but also a multi-stage educational and competitive course running from February to July 2026, aimed at strengthening participants’ fundamental algorithmic training.
The Department of Software Engineering at NURE serves as the organizer and key intellectual driver of the project. Its academic staff coordinate the event, prepare the problems, maintain the rankings, and ensure academic integrity.
This year, the Cup brought together 236 teams and 593 participants in three categories: Students, School Students, and Professionals. The competition includes representatives of 137 educational institutions from 22 regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv. Ukrainian programmers currently studying or working in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Czechia, Romania, Ireland, Poland, and Spain also joined the tournament.
The competition is held online on the EOlymp platform in two divisions, which makes it possible to involve both experienced participants and school students or beginners. Active participants will receive certificates for completing the “Algorithms and Data Structures” course, while teachers and team coaches will receive professional development certificates.
The strongest teams are now looking forward to the Superfinal. The Ukrainian Programming Cup 2026 once again proves that, despite the war, Ukrainian youth continue to learn, grow, and confidently hold the intellectual front.
