On January 27 Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Yulia Sokolovskaya in the framework of the working visit to Kharkiv region visited the Ukrainian research Institute of prosthetics, where he inspected the clinical base of the Institute and got acquainted with the work of the joint educational center of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, Scientific Research Institute of Prosthetics and the European society of Human Study, where the first graduation of prosthetist/orthotist took place, who underwent two-year training at KNURE.
Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (NURE) responded to the initiative of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine regarding the implementation of the second phase project of training in prosthetics/orthotics in Ukraine. Thanks to the support of the NATO trust Fund on medical rehabilitation the cooperation between three institutions — the School of Rehabilitation Sciences Human Study e. V., Ukrainian scientific-research Institute of prosthetics, prosthesis and rehabilitation and Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics will allow to continue the educational process at the ISPO standards in Ukraine, with the aim of increasing the number of qualified professionals in prosthetic and orthopedic industry of Ukraine.
Under the auspices of the Agency, the NATO support and procurement (NSPA) on 27-28 January 2020, on the basis of Ukraine the city of Kharkiv was held the entrance exam for the candidates to participate in the second stage of the educational project “Professional training of specialists in prosthetics/orthotics in Ukraine.” Also, selected applicants for Category II ISPO will receive the second higher education in Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (NURE). majoring in “Biomedical engineering”.
The entrance exam was held in two stages, allowing you to have the clearest possible idea of the level of knowledge and skills of the candidates. In the examination session was attended by 19 practicing in prosthetic and orthopedic industry specialists from different regions of Ukraine. With financial support from the NATO trust Fund on medical rehabilitation 14 specialists with higher level of knowledge will be able to take part in the project “Professional training of specialists in prosthetics/orthotics in Ukraine” with the aim of obtaining an international certificate ISPO Cat.II “Asiat, prosthetist/orthotist”, and the second higher education in Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, speciality “Biomedical engineering”.
During the meeting the rector Valerii Semenets said that through the joint work of NURE and Ukrainian research Institute of prosthetics training in the field of prosthetics, with the experience of the University of radio electronics in the areas of biomechanics and mechatronics, came to the highest level.
