In the issue dedicated to ACM-W Europe 10th Anniversary, an interview with the founder of Kharkiv Information & Communication Technologies ACM-W Chapter, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor of V.V. Popovskyy Department of Infocommunication Engineering, Chairman of NURE Young Scientists Council, Oleksandra Yeremenko was published.
This May, we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of ACM-W Europe. It is pertinent that the celebration focuses on honoring valued members.
These activists volunteered to support each other, network to promote women in all aspects of the computer industry. A series of interviews are planned for the year, and this series begins with the Head of the ACM-W regional chapter, Oleksandra Yeremenko.
Oleksandra noticed that computing and information and communication technologies are exactly what can protect and help to survive, which is the basis of the modern digital world and socio-communicative processes.

Currently, the ACM-W Europe membership plays a significant role. There is a war going on in our Homeland, Ukraine. Today, Ukrainian women should consolidate and help each other and our Motherland. Thanks to the experience of working in isolation and the complete transition to the online environment, we know how to organize the most vital workflows. These are the functioning of critical information infrastructures, the organization of alerting the population in case of danger, the reliability and continuity of financial communications, counteracting cybersecurity threats, information hygiene, and much more. An essential role is played by continuing the educational process for all those in Ukraine and forcedly abroad. All of these require enormous human resources. Under these conditions, we urgently need our European colleagues’ help, support, and advice since their experience is invaluable to us in the current conditions.

Now communications are critical in conditions when volunteer assistance can become almost the only one in a crucial situation. We united to make this world a better place at one time, but now we are holding hands in the name of peace on Earth!

Ukraine will Victory! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!
