25.10.2026

The History Museum of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics organized another walking tour for NURE students to the Slovo Building, one of the landmark sites in the history of Ukrainian culture.

During the tour, the participants learned about the historical realities of Kharkiv in the 1920s and discovered more about the lives and creative work of prominent Ukrainian cultural figures who lived in the Slovo Building.

In addition to hearing about the history of the building and its residents, the students had an opportunity to see documents and photographs from that period, helping them better understand the atmosphere of Kharkiv’s cultural life in the first half of the twentieth century.

For the participants, the visit became an opportunity not only to learn more about the history of the city but also to engage directly with Kharkiv’s cultural heritage. As the students themselves noted, “We came because we are interested in Ukrainian culture.”

The Slovo Building holds a special place in the cultural history of Kharkiv and Ukraine. The names of its residents are closely associated with an important period in the development of Ukrainian literature, art, and intellectual life.

Such tours allow NURE students to discover Kharkiv from a new perspective, deepen their understanding of its history and cultural heritage, and strengthen their connection with the city and its past.
