On 18 August 2026, the new “Future of Kharkiv Region” award of the Kharkiv Regional Council was presented for the first time in Kharkiv. Among its first 30 recipients was Kira Shuban, a student of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics.
The award was established in 2026 on the initiative of Deputy Chair of the Kharkiv Regional Council Valeriia Dziuba. It recognises young people aged 12 to 26 who have significant achievements in education, science, culture, sports and civic activities and contribute to the development of the Kharkiv region.
Kira Shuban is a second-year NURE student majoring in Computer Science under the Informatics educational programme. During the official ceremony, the award was personally presented to her by Chair of the Kharkiv Regional Council Tetiana Yehorova-Lutsenko.
This event is particularly significant for NURE, as a representative of our University is among the first young people to receive the newly established regional award. Kira Shuban’s achievement is another example of the active engagement of NURE students who successfully combine their studies with participation in student and civic life.
