The main goal of the Strategy for the Development of the National Blood System until 2022 is to ensure equal and timely access of patients to high-quality and safe components of donated blood in sufficient quantities.
The blood service plays an important role in ensuring that patients have access to safe blood components. During the Coronavirus pandemic, cooperation with the Municipal Non-Commercial Enterprise of the Kharkiv Regional Council “Regional Center Of Blood Service” (MNC KRC RCBS) becomes especially important.
The subject of the Agreement between NURE and MNC KRC RCBS is mutually beneficial non-profit cooperation in scientific and technical, educational and production activities. The cooperation is related to the training of specialists for MNC KRC RCBS in the field of information technology, specializing in Computer Science, staff development.
The partnership is planned to be implemented in the following projects:
- use of new information technologies in production activities;
- conducting internships (production, technological, scientific);
- invitation of partners to exhibitions, symposia, conferences, seminars, presentations;
- providing training seminars, refresher courses for employees of MNC KRC RCBS with the issuance of relevant certificates.
MNC KRC RCBS manufactures 17 types of blood components and serves 74 health care facilities in Kharkiv region free of charge.
In 2019, MNC KRC RCBS received the identification number of the institution, and began implementing the global standard for terminology, identification, coding and labeling of medical products of human origin ISBT 128.
An important aspect of infectious blood safety is the ability to identify donors who are in the early stages of infection.
Every year, MNC KRC RCBS participates in the external quality assessment of laboratory tests for blood-borne infections, and from the beginning of 2019 in the international program “EQAS”.
In 2018, the introduction of a laboratory information system was launched, which makes it possible to automatically obtain screening results. 6 analyzers were connected to the laboratory information system. The automated system of marking of biological samples of blood donors and its components has been developed and implemented.
In 2019, the Hemocorrection Center started its work in MNC KRC RCBS.
