As part of DAAD project «Eastern Partnership – 2025», scientists from the Department of Biomedical Engineering – Professor Oleg Avrunin, Associate Professors Karina Selivanova and Maxim Tymkovich, and Master’s student Olga Korolovich – attended «Еnergy Research Day» of Leibniz University Hannover at Enercity.
The event was dedicated to presenting the results of interdisciplinary energy research conducted at Leibniz University Hannover. The event aims to promote the exchange of experience and inspiration in energy research, as well as to strengthen networking between university faculties and international partners.
The event’s format encourages active participation from young scientists and aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, develop joint initiatives, and explore new approaches to research in sustainable energy development.
The LiFE 2050 programme invites scientists and partners to participate in Energy Research Day annually, which takes place in the atrium of Leibniz University Hannover.
The key topic of the visit was the exchange of experiences on integrating renewable energy into educational and scientific processes, which is particularly relevant in the context of the challenges facing Ukraine.
Our scientists shared with their European colleagues the specific practical results that NURE has already demonstrated in this field.
In particular, the introduction of green technologies into the educational process. NURE has begun a systematic phase of integrating the principles of sustainable development and green technologies into its educational programmes. This allows it to train specialists who possess up-to-date knowledge in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The university’s experience in introducing green technologies in conditions of mass power outages was highlighted separately. The use of its own solar generation capacities enables NURE to maintain the educational process even during prolonged power outages, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure. The educational event «Energy of the Future: From Steam to Sun» was presented as an example of promoting knowledge among students and scientists. Such initiatives help raise awareness about the evolution of energy and its prospects.
The participation of the NURE delegation in «Energy Research Day» in Hanover became an important platform for international dialogue, demonstrating that Ukrainian science not only functions effectively in a state of martial law, but also actively develops innovative and relevant areas. The exchange of experience with one of Germany’s leading universities opens up new prospects for joint research and further integration into the European scientific space.
