09.02.2021

The second quarter edition of Chemical Physics Letters, published by Elsevier, presented an article “Switching the type of redox activity of colloidal nanoceria by Re3+ (Re = Y, Eu, Tb) doping” co-authored by scientists from the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics and a team of scientists from the Institute of Scintillation Materials of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The article is devoted to the study of special redox properties of nanocerium  (nanocrystalline cerium dioxide – nanocerium – has proven itself as an inorganic antioxidant with unique antioxidant properties, has high biocompatibility, low toxicity and high redox activity in the inactivation of intracellular ROS and highly active free radicals).  The study was funded by a grant from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for young scientists “Development of redox nanomaterials with controlled antioxidant activity based on nanocrystals”.
