Iryna Kyrychenko, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Informatics of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, took part online in the European Astronomical Society Annual Meeting 2026.
The event is one of the largest international scientific forums in the field of astronomy and astrophysics, bringing together leading researchers, scientists, and specialists from different countries.
During the conference, participants presented modern achievements in astronomy, space research, the processing of large volumes of astronomical data, the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as prospects for the development of international scientific cooperation.
Particular attention was drawn to the thematic session “Saving Astronomy in Ukraine: What Can We Do as a Community?”. The session focused on supporting Ukrainian astronomers, preserving scientific infrastructure, and developing international cooperation under wartime conditions.
The participation of NURE representatives in such international events contributes to the exchange of scientific experience, familiarization with the latest trends in the development of information technologies in astronomy, and the expansion of opportunities for future international research projects.
