On 31 August – 1 September 2026, Iryna Pobizhenko, Head of the Department for Coordination of Educational Programmes and Academic Exchange and Associate Professor of the NURE Department of Software Engineering, took part in the Summer School “Educators in the Digital Era – from Facilitators to Instructional Designers”, organised by the European Digital Education Hub, an initiative of the European Commission in the field of digital education.
The event was hosted by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto — FCUP (Portugal) — and brought together educators and representatives of higher education institutions from across Europe.
During the Summer School, participants worked with the updated European framework for the digital competence of educators, DigCompEdu, explored the role of artificial intelligence and immersive technologies in instructional design, and developed practical cases based on their own teaching experience.
An important part of the visit was a working meeting between Iryna Pobizhenko and representatives of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). During the talks, the parties discussed possible formats of future cooperation and identified specific areas for further collaboration.
The participation of a NURE representative in the European Digital Education Hub Summer School and the negotiations with the University of Porto marked another step in strengthening international academic partnerships, exchanging modern educational practices and further integrating NURE into the European Higher Education Area.
