On July 9–10, 2026, the Media Center Ukraine in Kyiv hosted a two-day training course titled “Debunking Disinformation about the EU and Support for Ukraine: A Fact-Checking Workshop”, organized within the framework of the international EU-UA Disinformation Awareness and Resilience (DARE) Project.
The event focused on current issues of countering disinformation, in particular the analysis of propaganda narratives aimed at undermining trust in reforms and weakening international support for Ukraine, as well as practical approaches to identifying fake news, including content created with the use of artificial intelligence.
Participants examined trends in the evolution of Russian disinformation about Ukraine in EU countries in 2024–2025, discussed disinformation narratives at the regional level, and mastered modern tools for applying artificial intelligence in fact-checking.
The second day of the training had a practical team-work format: participants analyzed a disinformation narrative about European integration and EU countries’ support for Ukraine, developed concepts of counter-narratives for target audiences, and presented their teams’ projects during the final pitching session.
The experience gained and the materials received will be used in the work of the Department, in particular for developing academic mobility programmes and international educational projects with European partners.
