NURE OPEN SPACE IN NIKOLSKY

Even during the turmoil of war, one of Ukraine’s leading universities, KNURE, continues to operate. Visitors to the Nikolsky shopping centre joined in with a new gift for those interested in IT and the latest technologies, becoming guests and participants in a grand event organised by students and staff of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics.

An important event took place there – the NURE Open Day, held under the slogan ‘Become better with NURE: NURE Open Space’.This project was supported by the Department of Education and Science of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, the Department of Education of the Kharkiv City Council, IT companies, the Kharkiv IT Cluster and the NURE Alumni Association, and took place simultaneously at eight locations.

At the beginning of the presentation, greetings were given by the rector of KNURE, Igor Ruban, and representatives of the IT industry in Kharkiv, and a video was shown about our glorious university and the opportunities it offers. Then, everyone had the opportunity to talk to university staff and teachers and see many interesting things and real technical wonders. NURE employees demonstrated a large number of samples of the latest technological developments, inventions, methods of using IT and robotics, computer graphics and music, biomedicine and remote control.

Here, there were opportunities to create something yourself – with the help of targeted LEDs, which are not only sources of light, but also a palette of creative possibilities – these small bright fireflies transform the space into a true work of art, where the only limits are the scope of imagination and the number of LEDs, where everyone can become an artist with the help of the latest technology! Representatives of the APOT department taught how to control the LED strip and the Arduino machine.

The BMI department offered to create masterpieces not even by hand, but with the help of a robot artist. But the most important exhibit here was a medical rescue drone!

For those interested in contemporary trends in music, there was an intellectual music rhythm analyser called RhythiMix, which allows you to turn any of your favourite rhythms into dance music.

The media zone of the MST and MIRES departments offered a photo zone called ‘Capture Beauty,’ where anyone could become a photo star or model and immerse themselves in the world of creative self-expression and creativity with the help of a professional photographer. The laser show ‘From Engraving to Information Transfer’ by the FOET department was extremely vivid.

Various competitions with prizes from NURE partners took place on stage.

This extraordinary and eventful day ended with the quest game ‘Crazy IT Specialist,’ whose winners also received gifts. But the greatest gift for the guests was the opportunity to communicate with real IT specialists, robotics engineers, scientists, and teachers from the university, which is deservedly included in the top ten universities in Ukraine.

It is no coincidence that this open day was held under the slogan ‘First among the best’. NURE is not just an educational institution, but the heart of the creation of new technologies and their implementation in all areas of life, defence and medicine, everyday life and design — there is an opportunity to learn, deepen knowledge and get involved for everyone who becomes a student of our University!
