Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics has become a partner in the new international project TwinTech – “Transforming Ukraine with Digital Twin Technology: Path to a Green and Smart Future”, supported under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education programme.
NURE will be represented in the project by the V. V. Popovsky Department of Infocommunication Engineering. For the University, this marks another important step towards expanding international cooperation, modernising the educational environment and introducing technologies that will shape the future of industry, engineering and telecommunications.
The project brings together 15 universities, research institutions, businesses, public organisations and technology partners from Ukraine, Slovenia, Lithuania, Germany and Sweden. The State University “Kyiv Aviation Institute” serves as the project coordinator in Ukraine.
The main objective of TwinTech is to create a modern educational and innovation environment at Ukrainian universities for studying and applying Digital Twin technologies. Digital twins make it possible to build virtual representations of real-world objects, processes and systems, analyse their operation, simulate different scenarios and identify effective solutions before they are implemented in a physical environment.
The project will include:
- the development and implementation of new interdisciplinary courses in Digital Twin technologies;
- the integration of Digital Twin technologies into the education of specialists in robotics, automation, information systems and telecommunications;
- the establishment of modern Digital Twin Labs, where student teams will be able to design, develop, test and validate digital twins;
- the launch of the TWINTECH Academy to provide professional development opportunities for business and industry representatives;
- the creation of an international network of developers, researchers, universities, companies and Digital Twin technology users;
- support for Ukraine’s digital, green and technological transformation.
For the V. V. Popovsky Department of Infocommunication Engineering, participation in TwinTech is not merely an opportunity to contribute to a major European project. It is an opportunity to create education that stays ahead of technological change, advance modern infocommunication technologies and prepare professionals capable of working with digital models of real industrial, engineering and telecommunication systems.

Today, Ukrainian universities are not merely preserving and developing education under extraordinarily difficult circumstances. They are building international teams, creating future-oriented technologies and laying the intellectual foundations for Ukraine’s recovery.
Three years of ambitious work lie ahead, including new educational programmes, laboratories, research activities, international cooperation and technological solutions.
TwinTech is beginning – and NURE is among those transforming Ukraine’s future today.
