Before the anniversary in order to promote scientific schools, improve the academic image, continuity, preserve and honoring the memory of scientists associated with NURE, the University joined the international Mathematical Genealogy Project
MGP is a network database that allows to trace academic genealogy of mathematicians. By June 2019, it contains more than 243,000 scientists.
MGP has operated under the auspices of the American Mathematical Society and it supported by a grant from the Clay Mathematics Institute.
V. Rvachev and Ye. Ivanchenko branches back to the common European genealogy tree and have German roots leading to the Saxon scholars: Christian August Hausen (1693-1743) – mathematician who is known for his research on electricity, and Abraham Gotthelf Kästner (1719-1800).
MGP demonstrates the continuity of scientist’s generations and indicates NURE scientific schools, without which there is no University sustainable development.
