On December 12, at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, the results of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2024 were announced.
The 15th edition of the ranking features 1,477 universities from 95 countries, making it a truly global ranking system dedicated to evaluating sustainability indicators.
Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics improved its position, rising from 994th to 941st place worldwide and from 12th to 8th place among Ukrainian universities. The total score increased from 3,630 to 4,960 points.
The UI GreenMetric ranking aims to showcase universities’ efforts in addressing global climate change, clean energy, water conservation, waste recycling, green transportation, as well as education and research in the field of sustainable development.
This year, nearly 300 new universities joined the ranking, highlighting the growing commitment of higher education institutions worldwide to play a key role in shaping a sustainable future. The collective efforts of the academic community emphasize the vital role that universities play as global leaders in driving change towards a more sustainable future.
