Amidst the challenges of wartime, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics has maintained its position in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026. For the third year, NURE ranks 1501+. 2191 universities have already joined the world’s academic elite, 99 universities more than last year. The number of Ukrainian universities in THE WUR 2026 rankings has increased from 17 to 22. Among them are four Kharkiv universities, which demonstrate the stability and potential of education in our region, despite the aggression.
The ranking methodology includes 18 indicators grouped into five main categories:
- Teaching (learning environment) – 29,5%;
- Research environment (volume, income and reputation) – 29%;
- Research quality (citation impact) – 30%;
- International outlook (staff, students and research) – 7.5%;
- Industry (income and patents) – 4%.
Our results deteriorated regarding the Teaching and Research Environment, with decreased points. Our results improved regarding Research Quality, Industry and International Outlook, with increased points.
Maintaining NURE’s position in the context of war results from the team’s incredible work, the resilience of students and teachers, and confirmation of the high level of education and science at the university. This success on the international stage proves once again that NURE has not only survived but continues to work effectively and develop, preparing competitive specialists for the future of Ukraine.
