On February 14, an educational event titled “Women in Science,” dedicated to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, was held in Kharkiv. During the event, leading female scientists were recognized for their high professionalism and significant contributions to the development of education and science.

Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics presented an exhibition of scientific and technological developments as well as specialized equipment from the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BMI) and the Department of Computer Engineering (EOM). NURE female scientists were honored for their high professionalism and impactful contributions to Kharkiv’s education and science: Tetiana Polozova, Head of the Department of Economic Cybernetics and Economic Security Management, and Maryna Yevdokymenko, Professor at the V.V. Popovskyi Department of Infocommunication Engineering.

Associate Professors Karina Selivanova and Yana Nosova, along with students Anastasiia Boiechko-Nemovcha, Maksym Tishynskyi, Andrii Hladchenko, Ivan Oleksandrov, and Herman Andronov, represented the Department of Biomedical Engineering.

More than 600 Kharkiv schoolchildren attended the event, gaining the opportunity to discover STEM education offered by technical universities and engage with various interactive locations.

Women in science embody not only equality, but also strength, professionalism, and resilience. Amid the challenging conditions of war, Kharkiv’s female scientists continue to conduct research, teach, and implement new technologies. This proves that Ukrainian science never backs down in the face of wartime challenges.
