As a part of implementation of the Internationalization Strategy the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics joined the program of support of Ukrainian universities during the war called Twinning, introduced by Cormack Consultancy Group in partnership with the National Representative Office of British Universities and with the support of the Foundation of the President of Ukraine on Education, Science and Sports
The Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics has become a colleague of the famous university of Great Britain – The University of Warwick.
The partnership agreement was signed by the Acting Rector of NURE I. Ruban on September 21 online.
Professor of the Software Engineering Department Kirill Smelyakov and Associate Professor of the Software Engineering Department Anastasia Chuprina became coordinators of the project from NURE.
The Twinning Initiative is a model of cooperation between institutions that allows universities around the world to provide real, concrete support to their Ukrainian colleagues. International partner commits to support Ukrainian university for at least 5 years. The main objectives of the program is to lay the foundation for cooperation in science, education and technology.
Spheres of cooperation in the framework of Twinning include:
– organizing short-term mobility programs, scholarships for Ukrainian students, visiting professors, providing a safe base for displaced Ukrainian faculty,
– Mutual recognition of credits, promoting cultural and language exchange opportunities,
– targeted support for vulnerable populations, mental health support for Ukrainian faculty and students suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the war.
The guiding principle of Twinning is to support Ukrainian universities both during and outside of active conflict, minimizing brain drain and allowing Ukrainian universities to maintain their identity, autonomy, and values.
