On March 17, 2026, Ihor Ruban, Rector of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the university and the Department of Mass Sports in the Kharkiv Region of the State Institution “All-Ukrainian Center of Physical Health of the Population ‘Agency of Student, School, and Mass Sports of Ukraine'”, headed by Artem Nazarov.
The purpose of the Memorandum is to establish partnership relations and foster long-term cooperation in student sports, as well as to implement joint initiatives for introducing and developing the “Side-by-Side: All-Ukrainian Student Leagues” project in the Kharkiv region.
University Rector Ihor Ruban consistently supports the development of physical education and sports at the university, fostering conditions to increase athletic engagement among student youth, promote a healthy lifestyle, and shape NURE’s sports image at the national level.
As part of preparations for participating in the “Side-by-Side” All-Ukrainian Student Leagues, the NURE Department of Physical Education and Sports registered five teams for competition — one of the highest involvement rates among higher education institutions in the city. The University will be represented by teams in:
Football
Basketball (Men’s)
Cheerleading
Volleyball (Women’s and Men’s)
This level of student involvement in athletic life reflects the university’s systematic efforts in advancing mass and student sports, supporting athletic initiatives, and building competitive teams.
The signing of the Memorandum marks an important step toward strengthening collaboration between educational and sports institutions, opening new opportunities for the development of student sports in the region and raising the prestige of the university sports movement.
