NURE Establishes UNICOM Centre to Strengthen Community Engagement

05.06.2025

NURE is proud to announce the launch of the UNICOM Centre (University-Community Interaction Centre). This initiative reflects the university’s third mission – serving society – and aims to foster social responsibility, innovation, and sustainable development in the region.

Purpose and Objectives of the UNICOM Centre

The UNICOM Centre will serve as a platform for effective collaboration between the university and local communities, authorities, businesses, and civil society organizations.

Key focus areas include:

  • Organizing educational programs, training, and consultations in digital technologies, innovation, and STEM education.
  • Implementing social projects supporting inclusion, environmental sustainability, and Ukraine’s recovery efforts.
  • Developing international partnerships and adopting European best practices in community engagement.

The centre’s establishment aligns with NURE’s strategy for integration into the European Higher Education Area and the principles of the Bologna Process.

The UNICOM Centre will contribute to:

  • Strengthening ties between the university and local communities.
  • Engaging students, faculty, and experts in socially impactful initiatives.
  • Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals through education, research, and innovation.

How the Centre Will Operate

The UNICOM Centre will be part of NURE’s Benchmarking and Web Management Department. Its activities will involve university staff, volunteers, community representatives, and international partners. The centre will be led by a coordinator appointed by the university’s rector.

This centre is a crucial step in enhancing the university’s social impact. We want our knowledge and technologies to serve communities, especially during wartime and post-war recovery.

The centre’s initiatives will be funded through university resources, international grants, and partner projects.

Join the Collaboration!

NURE invites all interested parties – communities, businesses, and NGOs – to collaborate on projects to drive positive regional change.
