The Spanish Cybermetrics Lab has released the traditional July issue of the Ranking of World Universities. The purpose of the Webometrics ranking is to increase the presence of universities on the Internet and to promote the open publication of research results. Webometrics takes into account the number of pages indexed by search engines, external links to it, the citation of the resource. For the research results the SCImago data on publications in Scopus and data on citations of publicly available publications from Google Scholar, are taken into account. Although Webometrics does not analyze the educational activities of universities in general, but the representation of universities in the Internet space, it allows to indirectly assess the research achievements of universities.
The overall ranking includes about 12,000 universities, with country-specific filtering allowing you to see the global and national positions of its universities that are not included in the published ranking list. To compile the rating, the developers rated the sites of more than 30,000 educational institutions around the world.
As of July 2020, NURE took 7th place among 317 Ukrainian higher educational institutions and 2744th place in the world.
Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics closes the top three of the Kharkiv HEI after the KhNU named after V.N. Karazin and NTU “KhPI”.
In particular, according to the Excellence indicator, which shows the number of articles published by university scientists, who are among the top 10% of the most cited by SSImago, NURE ranks the 5th in Ukraine. According to the Openness indicator (citation according to Google Scholar profiles) – the 9th place among Ukrainian HEI.
