On September 8, 2026, representatives of the Student Self-Government of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics took part in the All-Ukrainian Youth Forum “Ukraine 2036. Architects of the Future”, held in Rivne Region.
The forum brought together more than 250 participants representing 70 higher education institutions from across Ukraine and provided a platform for discussing the country’s future, the development of education and technology, opportunities for young people, artificial intelligence, and the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities.
Representatives of Kharkiv universities travelled to Rivne as one joint delegation. Despite a six-hour train delay and the need to adjust their plans, the students managed to join the main programme of the forum, which included panel discussions, workshops and thematic meetings.
Particular attention was paid to the involvement of young people in the reconstruction of Kharkiv. Using the example of Pivnichna Saltivka, participants discussed what the city should look like after reconstruction, how to make urban spaces modern, safe and comfortable, and what role young people can play in these processes.
Among the forum speakers were Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, Acting Mayor of Rivne Viktor Shakyrzian, Olympic champion Zhan Beleniuk, UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine Matthias Schmale, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Serhii Tymofieiev, Head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Koval, as well as representatives of business, education and the youth sector.
The participants also discussed what Ukraine should look like in 2036: how education and technology may change, where new opportunities for young people will emerge, how artificial intelligence will affect society, and what principles should guide the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities.
Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics was represented at the forum by Kira Shuban (ITINF-24-1), Kateryna Kolesnikova (STSA-25-1) and Kristina Kovalenko (ITU-25-1).
In addition to its intensive programme, the forum gave NURE students an opportunity to meet representatives of other universities, exchange experience and communicate with active young people from different regions of Ukraine.
