LECTURERS AND STUDENTS OF THE BME DEPARTMENT HELD AN EDUCATIONAL EVENT ON SPORTS MEDICINE

On 23 October, lecturers from the department, together with first- to third-year students from the Biomedical Engineering programme, held an event dedicated to sports medicine at the Taras Shevchenko City Garden.

LECTURERS AND STUDENTS OF THE BME DEPARTMENT HELD AN EDUCATIONAL EVENT ON SPORTS MEDICINETeachers and students of the BMI Department held an educational event on sports medicine. Students had the opportunity to study the physiological indicators of the body in dynamics during cycling and cardio training on bicycles and electric scooters using a pelukis meter, portable cardiac monitoring systems and chest belts with sensors for recording the bioelectrical activity of the cardiovascular system, which are automatically synchronised with a mobile phone.

As part of team building to continue the international OER project with Germany on the creation of open educational resources, the department purchased modern digital equipment for filming various events, video lectures and interactive training sessions, which are actively implemented in the educational process in order to improve the quality of education for students at all levels of higher education: a hemispherical 3600 panoramic camera 360livecam; a Kandao QooCam EGO 3D camera with stereo 3D technology; a Yelangu robotic camera system and a video recording rig.

The educational event is educational in nature, as it promotes a healthy lifestyle among active university youth, which in turn corresponds to the achievement of the 3rd UN Sustainable Development Goal – Good Health and Well-being.
