On February 23, 2023, the event “Involvement of youth in the decision-making process in conditions of war” was held, which was organized by IREX in partnership with the International Republican Institute within the framework of the USAID “Dream and Act” program. The lecturers of the Department of Ukrainian Studies of KhNURE took part in it. Timothy Stautzenberger, director of the MRI program in Ukraine, and Yuliya Tkachuk, deputy director of the IREX program, made a welcome speech.
Within the framework of the event, a panel discussion was held with representatives of youth organizations (PLAST, UAS, Mariupol Youth Council, Building Ukraine Together, SpivDiya) on the involvement of youth in decision-making during the war. The discussion was moderated by Maryna Popatenko, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. A manual on civic education was also presented, which contains both practical cases and theoretical material on the implementation of civic education at various levels.
Youth participation in decision-making was, is and will be important for the successful development of the country. Representatives of youth councils and organizations, activists and volunteers, young political leaders, government officials who work with young people.
