International Day of Persons with Disabilities

03.12.2025

Today, 3 December, NURE joins the global community in celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

This day is intended to remind us all of the importance of equal opportunities, respect and mutual support. It draws society’s attention to the fact that every person, regardless of their health or developmental characteristics, has the right to a fulfilling life, education, work, creativity and participation in the community.

As part of the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the NURE Accessibility Service, “NURE without Barriers”, organised the provision of humanitarian and financial assistance to students with disabilities. An offline information event was held to commemorate the history of the proclamation of the day and to review the success stories of outstanding individuals with disabilities.

At the NURE museum, Tetyana Blinova, head of the accessibility service “NURE without Barriers”, gave a presentation about the day and its history.

Alina Ovchenko, an engineer of the accessibility service “NURE without Barriers”, presented inspiring success stories of people with disabilities.

This day, proclaimed by the UN in 1992, is not a holiday. It is an essential call to action, reminding us that disability is just one aspect of human diversity, not a sentence or an obstacle to a fulfilling life.
