In the conditions of long-term power outages, blackouts and enemy attacks of the Russian Federation on critical infrastructure, the implementation of alternative sources of environmental energy for conducting classes and scientific activities at the university is currently the most relevant direction.
Green technologies include: energy-saving technologies – to increase energy efficiency and save energy without emitting greenhouse gases (electrical appliances, energy-saving lamps); renewable energy sources – production of energy from renewable sources such as the sun, wind, water, etc. (solar panels, wind generators, wind turbines, hydro stations); environmental cleaning technologies – to reduce environmental pollution (air filtration, water purification, waste processing).
As part of the DAAD and International Doctoral Studio Program international projects, the Department of Biomedical Engineering purchased ecological and energy-saving equipment for implementation in the educational process and scientific research:
– solar panel Flashfish TSP18V/100W (complex portable solar panel for powering a laptop, generator, phones);
– charging stations HOСO 60000A/h and 30000A/h;
– wind generators and wind turbines (Thames & Kosmos 627928 2.0 Science Kit – Wind-Powered Generators to Energize Electric);
– Baseus 30000A/h laptop charging station;
– STEM kit and hand-operated mini-generator SV DIY;
– a solar ecological oven-grill that does not pollute the environment, is recommended even for preparing a vegan menu.
As a result of a long-term power outage, teachers of the department of BMI NURE conducted the first tests of energy-saving technologies in remote mode for conducting classes.
The implementation of green technologies in the educational process and scientific activity of the department and the university as a whole corresponds to the achievement of the 7th Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nations.
