ENGAGE 5.0, a European education and research project involving the KІTAR BI Department of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, invites researchers, educators and industry professionals to participate in a special invited session at the IFAC INCOM 2027 international conference.
The conference will take place on June 28–30, 2027, in Nantes, France, under the overall theme “AI and Digital Technologies for Sustainable and Resilient Manufacturing and Logistics”.
As part of INCOM 2027, the ENGAGE 5.0 partners will organize the invited session “Education, Skills and Learning Factories for Human-Centric Manufacturing”. The session aims to connect modern educational approaches with the principles of human-centric manufacturing and Industry 5.0.
The session will focus on innovative curricula, competence development and assessment, the use of Learning Factories, and the preparation of engineers, operators and managers for next-generation industrial environments.
The organizers invite theoretical, methodological and empirical research contributions.
Key topics include:
— competence requirements and skills gaps for Operator 5.0 and Engineer 5.0;
— mapping human-centric Learning Factories and their educational programmes;
— curriculum development aligned with current industrial needs;
— assessment of learning outcomes and transfer of competencies into industrial practice;
— inclusive lifelong learning, upskilling and reskilling through Learning Factory networks;
— the use of generative AI and large language models for knowledge capture and learning support;
— human–AI interaction, XR, digital twins and collaborative robots for hands-on education;
— inclusive workplace design, employee well-being indicators and social sustainability.
The session is organized by researchers from ENGAGE 5.0 partner universities: Marta Pinzone from Politecnico di Milano; Chiara Cimini and Claudia Piffari from the University of Bergamo; Bartłomiej Gładysz and Krzysztof Ejsmont from Warsaw University of Technology; and Sandra Jakšić, Greta Braun and Johan Stahre from Chalmers University of Technology.
Important dates for authors:
