DEVELOPMENT OF A VR APPLICATION UNDER THE WILDAU-KHARKIV-IT-BRIDGE-III PROJECT

28.11.2024

From 07.10 to 25.10, senior lecturers of the department of systems engineering Svitlana Ponomaryova and Nadiya Kalaida together with assistant professor of the department of microelectronics, electronic devices and devices Oksana Babichenko took part in the development of a VR application under the project Wildau-Kharkiv-IT-Bridge-III / Wildau-Kharkiv IT Bridge III (DAAD Program Ukraine digital, Ensuring study success in times of crisis / DAAD Program Ukraine digital: Ensuring academic success in times of crisis).

The team of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics was invited to the Wildau Technical University of Applied Sciences (Germany) to jointly develop a virtual laboratory that can be used to train students in conditions of lack of access to the university’s physical laboratories. In the virtual laboratory, students will be able to familiarize themselves with and conduct experiments using the latest development of the HyPhoX company.

HyPhoX is developing a photonic biosensor device that will be modeled and used in a virtual lab. For more accurate modeling of the device and the process of interaction with it, HyPhoX co-founder Patrick Steglich explained some features of the construction of the equipment and the passage of the experiment.

Under the leadership of Markus Frome, professor of the Technical University of Applied Sciences, Wildau, and Alina Nechyporenko, professor of the department of systems engineering, the creation of a virtual laboratory model and an algorithm of actions to perform the corresponding laboratory work was started.

In the course of working on the project, the team of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics met with the vice-president for training and teaching of the Wildau Technical University of Applied Sciences, prof. Rainer Stollhoff (Vice-president for Studies and Teaching of Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau, Prof. Dr. Rainer Stollhoff) to present the idea and basic concept of the project Wildau-Kharkiv-IT-Bridge-III. During the meeting, the need to create a VR application was demonstrated, which is due to the need for an accessible and safe environment for practical training of students and researchers from different countries.
