Joy multiplies when shared. Such is the mathematics of human relations. In times of trials and challenges, it is so important to have a space for gatherings and celebration.
On January 24, as part of the social and career guidance initiatives of our University, the “Savieliev Family Vertep” presented a performance for internally displaced persons residing in NURE dormitories. Larysa Karpova, Vice-Rector of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, expressed sincere gratitude for the organized event. We extend our thanks to Acting Head of the Department of Acting and Directing for Puppet Theater Pavlo Savieliev, 1st-year student of the Department of Acting and Directing for Puppet Theater Zakharii Savieliev, production designer Daria Kushnirenko, and their younger son Ihnatii for presenting the Ukrainian vertep.
The “Savieliev Family Vertep” is a creative family ensemble that creates and performs Christmas vertep shows, particularly for internally displaced persons, combining traditional Ukrainian Christmas stories with a social mission. The vertep features traditional characters such as the Angel, Shepherds, Three Kings, Death, the Devil, King Herod, the Jew Moshko with his wife Sura, and the Kozak, reflecting folk humor and the nativity story.
The audience enthusiastically embraced the theatrical performance, in which ancient and modern history were wonderfully interwoven. Faith in goodness, the power of love, and Ukrainian traditions and customs – everything came together in the light of Christmas joy.
