The Times Higher Education World University Rankings, established in 2004, provide the definitive list of the world’s best universities.

The carefully balanced and comprehensive methodology was developed after more than a decade of consultation with the world’s leading universities and is based on the rankings team’s deep understanding of what makes a university truly world-class.

The team of data experts assesses world-class universities on 13 separate performance indicators, covering the full spectrum of a leading university’s core activities: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and global outlook.

THE’s rich data is a vital source of educational advice for students, helping them make one of the most important decisions of their lives – where to entrust their education.

The overall THE World University Ranking, which includes over 2,000 institutions, is accompanied by a number of subject rankings to help students decide where to study:

In 2024, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics ranked in the 1501+ group.

In total, the ranking analyzed more than 157 million citations from more than 18 million scientific publications in the Scopus database, survey responses from 93,000 scientists from around the world, and data from more than 2,860 universities. This year, the ranking covers 2,092 universities from 104 countries. Ukraine is represented by seventeen universities, with only Sumy State University in the top 1,000.

The THE rating agency also publishes subject rankings. Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics is included in the rankings for computer science and engineering:

The publication threshold for inclusion in the Engineering and Computer Science subject rankings is 500 publications in 5 years.

In general, NURE is included in the world ranking, subject rankings and impact ranking, which is compiled by Times Higher Education.

In order to stay in any rankings in these extremely difficult times, it is imperative to maintain scientific potential and publication activity in highly rated academic publications.
